A few months ago we found out that Visceral (the studio responsible for Dead Space) is developing a game in the Star Wars universe. Rumors have had it that it featured Han Solo and may be using some of the work that was put in to the cancelled 1313 game. Recently the games Creative Director and Co-writer have shared some things on social media that reinforce the Han Solo rumor.
The presence of the Han and Stormtrooper action figures, and the word “scoundrel” in both posts seem to strongly support the Han Solo game theory.
In an article from Star Wars Episode 7 News, they say they’ve also heard from inside Visceral that it will be a 3rd person action game and that we should get some announcement and some kind of video at this years E3 (June 16th-18th).
I had honestly forgotten that this game was in the works and I’m excited all over again to hear more about it and can’t wait to see the announcement on what exactly it will be!
So I’ve never played Disney Infinity I’ll admit, but I knew that Star Wars would eventually come to it and I would have to make a choice of playing it or not. Apparently that day will be soon.
GameInformer just unveiled their cover for their June issue and showed that it will feature Disney Infinity 3.0 which includes characters from both the Original and Prequel Trilogies. As I said I don’t know much about Infinity but apparently the game modes are each being made by separate developers so they can focus on their contributions. Another set for The Force Awakens will be coming out in the winter as well and of course all figures are sold separately save for the 2 or 3 that come with the game. Watch GameInformer’s video about the new game below.
It will be releasing on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, Wii U, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, iOS, and Android this fall. Maybe I’ll try out the Android version since I don’t even own a console newer than my Playstation 2. But it’s cool to know this stuff is out there… and expensive. I may have to hide this game’s release from my son.
Happy Star Wars Day everyone!
This weekend a post on StarWars.com let us know that The Force Awakens merchandise will start releasing on what they’ve named Force Friday, September 4th 2015. The article says that stores around the world will open at 12:01 AM to start selling all the figures, lightsabers, LEGO sets and more from Episode VII.
I’m excited to get my hands on Kylo Ren’s lightsaber and some LEGO mini-figs of all the new characters! Waiting in line at midnight to buy toys, this is why being a grown up is awesome!
Vanity Fair released some shots and a behind the scenes video from their June issue that has a large feature on Star Wars Episode VII.
I’ll admit, these pictures are pretty awesome especially this one!
Just as everybody was suspecting, Adam Driver is indeed Kylo Ren!
Here we see Lupita Nyong’o doing motion cap for her character who is apparently all CG.
Here is several shots of the “rogues gallery” that Lupita’s character appears to be the leader of.
This is a full body shot of Captain Phasma, and the caption confirms that Gwendolyn Christie is indeed inside that armor.
Next we have Poe Dameron (Oscar Isaac) posing on his X-wing.
Here’s a shot of Rey, and some other folks on Jakku, getting direction from J.J.
Lastly we have a shot Director J.J. Abrams, President of LucasFilm Kathleen Kennedy, Composer John Williams, and Co-writer Lawrence Kasdan.
Big news with confirmation of which two characters Adam Driver and Gwendolyn Christie are playing. Also, Vanity Fair says they have another reveal of a character tomorrow at 4pm (time zone not specified).
Pretty exciting stuff for our May the 4th!
May the 4th is coming and it’s keeping me busy with Star Wars news!
You can stay busy watching the entire first season of Star Wars: Rebels for free on StarWars.com from now till May 4th. Remember that Season 2 starts June 20th so it’s a great time watch or re-watch and get yourself up to speed.
Surprising news was posted today on StarWars.com.
Josh Trank, who directed the upcoming Fantastic Four film, has left his role as director for the next untitled Star Wars Anthology film.
In the article Josh says:
“After a year of having the incredible honor of developing with the wonderful and talented people at Lucasfilm, I’m making a personal decision to move forward on a different path. I’ve put a tremendous amount of thought into this, and I know deep down in my heart that I want to pursue some original creative opportunities. That said, the Star Wars universe has always been one of my biggest influences, and I couldn’t be more excited to witness its future alongside my millions of fellow Star Wars fans. I want to thank my friends Kathleen Kennedy, Kiri Hart, Simon Kinberg, and everyone at Lucasfilm and Disney for the amazing opportunity to have been a part of this. May the Force be with you all.”
I am sad to see him leave as I was looking forward to seeing his take on Star Wars. People say he is a huge fan and I really enjoyed Chronicle so I think it would’ve been good. However, this news means that we are now waiting to hear the announcement of who is going to be taking over the as yet unnamed second anthology film. Rumor has it (but I don’t deal in those) that Joss Whedon is interested in doing a Star Wars film…
